January 23, 2013 -- still waiting.........

Today we took Grayson to the Dr. so he could get his final shots.  He got the flu shot (which I didn't want him to get, but we didn't have a choice since they still had the shot in stock.  Once they run out of stock, then its not required anymore.....darn it!)  Anyway, he also got the pneumonia shot.  They also gave him a liquid dose of the rotavirus vaccine.  He did pretty well overall.  It was actually pretty funny when the nurse stuck the needle in his leg because he looked  down at his leg and then looked right up at her as if to say, "what are you doing!!".  It was funny :)  He cried a little during the shots, but was then fine.  We played on a little rocking horse afterwards which he enjoyed :)  He has been good the rest of the day and he actually slept during nap time -- that's right! It wasn't a power nap :)

After the Dr. appointment, we ran some errands with Anna (who was our driver today).  We stopped at a grocery store where we found Dr. Pepper!!!!!!!!!!!! and BBQ chips and Lays chips!! YAHOO :)  We also splurged and bought a Pepsi and a Sprite.  It was a good day.

After that, we headed to pick up a pizza since it will be Anna's birthday tomorrow and someone bought us all pizza for lunch.  We each had one piece and it was pretty good.  Of course it had lots of toppings on it because nothing here is plain.  But hey - we are not complaining :)  While Anna was picking up the pizza we were parked somewhat along the side of the road.  The car began rolling backwards and I sat there freaking out because mom and I were in the back seat along with 3 babies!! Long story short, the car soon stopped rolling before we hit the car behind us!  We are all fine, but it sure gave us a scare.  Note: the car must be in "park" in order to remain still.................what a day.  And it was only 11:00am at this point.

After dinner tonight, we found out that Ted called the court today to check on our case again...and of course, it's not good news.  We were hoping to have our first decree by tomorrow (Thursday).  That will not be happening and they told us we should expect it sometime next week.  Long story short, we were lied to again about some of the details on dates/timelines, etc.  At this point Mom and I will be flying to Hong Kong sometime next week -- we are currently checking out the best airfare prices.  It is not possible to get everything done before I must be out of the country.  Apparently the government does not care about our timeline, etc. as they told us they would get our case done asap when it arrived at the courthouse here.  It has been there for 3 weeks now.  Literally 25 minutes away.  I really wish at moments like this that I was fluent in Chinese.  But it's probably a good thing that I am not.

Please continue to pray for peace about the situation.  I know our families back home feel completely helpless in the situation as we do here as well.  Thank you for all the prayers.

On our way to the Dr. visit
 He knows something is up.
Playing on the rocking horse after he got his shots :)
He thought it was pretty fun!....now he wants a real one Daddy :) :)

 He fell asleep.
Good thing I caught his head when he plunged forward! :)

This is hard to see, but those 2 little things sticking out of the crib are his feet :)
Some of the vegetables in the kitchen.  This pic does not do them justice on their size!! They are huge!
Concrete is done - putting the steal up now!!

  1. I am a pastor in Indianapolis that has been made aware of your adoption challenges through a chain of emails that eventually landed on my computer. My wife and I are international adoptive parents and we understand the turbulence of working toward giving a secure, spiritual home to a child who has nothing. The process and attitudes of those working within the cold, calculated politics of bureaucratic nonsense can be overwhelming. Be encouraged by this passage from 2 Chronicles 20:15 "[from the Lord] Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's."
