Sometimes, saying thank you is not enough. They are just words. Words don't hold a lot of power anymore. People lie. People don't keep their word. People don't believe anything you say. Then, on occasion, thank yous do involve an action. People believe actions because they are visible. They are concrete. You can see them. More or less there is a worldly understanding that you believe something because you have seen that particular something. My visual thank yous in action have been tears. An overabundance of tears. I'm probably not going to cry in front of you. I'm very introverted and keep a lot of things to myself. Words can't express the amount of love and support that has surrounded Grayson, Lindsay, and I during this period. So much love that I do break down to tears. My eyes water. I can't see. I sniffle. My nose runs. I wipe it off. Then it repeats again. My eyes water. I can't see .....
Thank you all so much for the overabundance of blessings, love, and prayer. Your actions have caused a reaction of tears. You can see tears. They are real. You can't see everything though. Somethings, you just have to have faith to believe without seeing. We believe that God has had his hand in this journey from day one. We didn't really know where we were headed. The unseen. But we knew that we had to follow. We knew it would take faith. Faith to go where we couldn't see. To follow. Not blindly follow, but follow with a hope and faith that we are following what is eternal and to stay focused on it despite setbacks. To follow where our Lord has called us and to continue to know that giving Grayson a permanent home with parents that believe in Jesus Christ that we will be able to share the love and sacrifice of Christ with him. We can only hope to return the love that was shown to us by giving away what we have been given at a later time, so that others will "see" His eternal love.
Through tears I say thank you and praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Matt
2 Corinthians 4:18 New International Version (NIV)
18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
