December 23, 2012 -- Our Christmas Day!

Today we celebrated Christmas!  It was mass chaos......completely.  Once I finally got over to the other side of the orphanage where the party was going on I had a great time :) Below are are some pics!

 Kelsey and Grayson :)
Celebrating our first Christmas together :) Wish Daddy was here!
So I have been working on this hat for Grayson for Christmas.  I learned to crochet while here and finished it today!!!
Grayson likes his hat :) I think it turned out pretty well!
 Look Mom! No hands!!!
The women that work here at the orphanage bought us all these :) It's like a scarf and hat all in one :)  Really neat!
 picture of the Christmas room!
Grayson thinks its funny to look at himself in the mirror?  Not sure why, but it makes me laugh!
This boy had me for his secret santa. The funny part was that he was told he had a boy!!! You should have seen the look on his face when I came forward :) I think he was embarrassed  but it was too funny......or at least everyone else thought so :) :)
I bought for this girl for secret santa :)  I got her 2 fuzzy socks, 3 nail polish, cute pencil bag, and some candy!
 Ted and Bev :)

Loved spending the day with some of the older kids!
My presents! water bottle, pic frame, chopsticks and holder (really cool!), pouch holder, and belt.........Ted might end up with the belt :)
Grayson loved the Christmas tree! He could have stared at it all day long!

So Ted and Bev give each child a gift bag filled with goodies.  The kids also have sponsors around the world and their sponsors will also send gifts for them!  They then do a secret Santa with everyone in the orphanage (adults and kids). The kids are given 200NT -- that's about 7 American dollars. They take the kids shopping one day and they pick things out :)  Any money left over must be given away to the person receiving your
gift so the kids do not "profit" on this (hehe)!
I did a little bit of video taping during this time and can show you all those when I get home.  You should have seen this Christmas party!  It was crazy! The kids went nuts over every gift --- I mean, jumping up and down screaming and running around!  Not only were the kids doing this, but the adults as well!  It was so neat to see such excitement and proud-ness to the gifts they were getting!  It was just nice to see everyone so grateful for what they got.  Really cool.
After all the presents were opened, the kids all got ready and went out to dinner.  Upon returning they sad together on a giant rug and sang Christmas songs with the lights off and the Tree all lit up.  It was neat :) Made me really really miss home today and all of our family, but I am so glad to get to spend this day with Grayson as I know his 1st Christmas will never come again.  And I know he will not remember it, but someday I will pull out the videos and pictures to tell him all about THIS Christmas.

We truly wish you and your family a blessed Christmas Season!
 Love to all,
Lindsay & Grayson
