Whew! I don't know where to begin about today's journey?.......
It started off by me getting to feed Grayson around 4:30 this morning :) Mom was awake because she doesn't sleep at all and Grayson needed to be fed so she brought him upstairs to me (I was awake anyway). Then we got to snuggle for a little while before he needed to be back downstairs. :)
Ted was our tour guide today around the town and Taroko Gorge National Park. It-was-amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
I have never seen anything like it -- God's beauty is magnificent. I don't understand how people can look at the landscape and scenery we did today and not believe there is a creator. I will attach some pics from today, but I know they will not do it justice :)
We started the day by taking a train about 1 hour away. It went through the mountains and along the eastern coastline so we got to see the beach, which was beautiful! Then Ted rented a car and we drove another 45 minutes to a park called, Taroko Gorge. It was so massive you cannot really get through it in a day! I have truly never seen anything like it -- the mountains, rock formations, rivers, etc. We ate lunch in a chinese gazebo on the side of a mountain overlooking a waterfall/river. There was actually a Buddhist temple up above us on the mountain. We could have taken the steep path to it, but really didn't want to climb the mountain :)
We also saw a really cool Presbyterian church and Ted told us the history of the church. There is very deep history and culture here. We also got to go into a cave where the christians use to secretly have church. We were in the actual cave and it was really really cool!! Matt prayed and we sang a hymnal -- It gave me chills being in there!
We of course ate rice AGAIN for lunch :) Ted also got some fruit for dessert. Over here they consider fruit to be the last thing at every meal. We have tried all kinds of new fruits. Today we had something called "dragon head fruit". It tastes similar to kiwi, but its bright pink-ish purple colored (kind of freaky looking). But it was pretty good. Ted also made us try a lot of new things (most of which we didn't like - but he insisted we try them).....oh, by the way ---- we found my dad's twin......His name is Ted Skiles. He drives like him, talks like him, over analyzes everything ---- we got to laughing so hard today because they are EXACTLY alike! and we learned very quickly that if you don't keep up with him - you will get left behind!
Anyway - We also went on swinging bridge which was terrifying!!!!!! We got mom to go on it to -- we crossed over this deep river valley.
We just got back to the home -- It's 5:00pm now and we are exhausted :) but it was an amazing day!
On a serious note~ Our court date is tomorrow and we are extremely nervous about it. Our exact court time is 10:30am which is actually 9:30pm Thursday night for you all. I know it will be late, but we would like prayers especially during this time (9-11pm - your time). This is the time we will be in court and the birth family/mom will be meeting Grayson for the first time - and making final decisions. We know God is in control, but regardless it will be a hard day for us, and the birth family as we understand that one families gain is anothers loss. We will get a chance to tell the birthmom anything we want her to know, which will be hard too--- my goal is to not cry :)
Anyway, please pass this along to whomever you want? :) And a huge thanks to all who continue to lift us up in prayer! It has been an amazing journey thus far :)
Love you all
Matt, Lindsay, and Grayson!
