Grayson is 5 months old!!! I cannot believe he is that old, but I am so glad I got to be with him today and take a picture with him! He is starting to learn that I am his mom and not just a nanny :) He notices when I come into the room now and he is letting me cuddle with him before bedtime each night. (my favorite part of the day). He is always smiling, except when we skype our families....then he just stares at the screen and doesn't smile. But I promise he is smiling and giggling all the time! We have several visitors here at the orphanage each day to help us and volunteer. They all say what a happy baby he is :) The only time I have heard him cry is when he just wakes up or when he is fighting sleep. It's almost like he doesn't want to miss anything, so he really tries to fight the sleep! He is also teething right now so he is soaking his clothes and bib with slobber every day. He loves taking walks outside and is very curious about everything. He also enjoys car rides where he can look out the window at everything. We went outside for about 20 minutes today and there were 2 kids playing basketball on the court here at the orphanage. I was going to walk around, but he was very interested in watching them play so we sat and watched for a while. (I am sure that comment is making Matt smile right now:)
We also went to get his passport photo taken today!! It was a last minute thing, but I was so happy and excited because that means we are getting closer to bringing him home!!! We are currently waiting on the first decree to come in (meaning the judge passed our case). It could be another 3-4 weeks before we hear anything but we are really hoping it will be sooner than that. So keep praying for that to come quickly!
Below are some pictures of our day. The top picture is Amanda holding Grayson. Anytime you lift him in the air he does a "superman" pose like he is flying or something :) It's so funny! Some of the girls here think he is working on his "planking". hahhahaaa!
We also got to skype my pre-school class and some of my family today! The kids were so funny - they were trying to understand how I was across the world and it was nighttime here, but daytime there :) They were telling me all about the food they were going to eat at thanksgiving.......which made me very jealous :) and hungry! I miss those crazy kids :)
Our days are busy, but we are enjoying each day the Lord allows us to be together. But, we sure do miss Matt (Daddy)! I am starting to work on my chinese too. I am not very good AT ALL, but I am sure to know some things by the time I get home.
Today's word: "She-she" (not sure if I spelled that right)...........that means "thank you". And that is all I really know at this point. :)
Well, it's late and I have had a very long day so I am going to bed now. Please continue to pray that we will be home by Christmas! I cannot wait for everyone to meet Grayson........he is pretty much the cutest kid ever.
Love to all!
Lindsay & Grayson
