We
were praying with Kennedy around 11:15pm Sunday night and praying that God
would lead us and bring a peace to our hearts that coming week. We knew Kennedy would go home that week and
were very confused and sad about it. Our
prayer turned into us praying for God to show us a sign as to what we should do
next. We were probably at our lowest
point now and were begging God to show us His will for our lives…. Sometimes I
think that God waits for us to be 100% humbled before him and have no dignity
left before he chooses to bless us. In
those moments you know that any good thing must come from God. So anyway, we finished our prayer and laid
Kennedy down to sleep. Around 11:30pm
that night (like 15 minutes later) ~~ Our telephone rang and Matt
answered. I could tell by the shocked
look on his face that something life-changing was on the other end of the
line. Although I didn’t know if it was
“good” or “bad”?? and the blank look on his face wasn’t helping! :) He told me it was Ted from Taiwan and they
had a newborn baby boy they would like to match us with!!! Matt asked me if we wanted to adopt a boy and
I just looked toward the ceiling thinking, “WOW GOD!! THAT WAS FAST!” --- They
began to tell us all about him:
*His name is: Liu Rung-En
*Birthday: June 14, 2012
* Likes to cry and wiggle and kick his strong
legs
*Long arms and legs
*dimples!
*dark hair
*Premature – born at 37 weeks weighing 5.7
lbs
To
say we were “shocked” doesn’t even begin to describe our emotions that
night. They wanted us to give them an
American name to call him asap! So his
American name is Grayson David :) By the morning time we had 3 pictures in our
email and they had begun calling him Grayson!!!
We
will be traveling over the Taiwan 2 times – not sure when yet? They are hoping we can bring him home
somewhere around Thanksgiving to Christmas time!! Wouldn’t that be
awesome!!! We are still really shocked –
in a good way – and cannot believe it’s really happening. We thought the new adoptions laws had closed
the door for us to adopt from there. We
guess God had other ideas! Another cool
thing was that Ted and Bev said they had been praying for 2 weeks about who to
give this baby to and kept coming back to us!
God is good – all the time – even when we can’t see the plan.
